WELCOME TO WALBROOK
Walbrook RC is situated on the Middlesex bank of the Thames just above Teddington Lock near Trowlock island. It is the first non-tidal club on the Thames and, on most days of the year, conditions are excellent for rowing and sculling.
We use the four mile stretch of water up to Molesey Lock which takes in Kingston and Hampton Court and has to be one of the prettiest and safest stretches of the Thames.

Learn To Row
Are you curious about rowing, but not sure where to start? Do you want to take up a new sport that's good for both body and mind? Our Learn To Row courses are the perfect place to begin. Whether you're looking to try rowing for the first time or get back into a boat, our expert coaches will guide you through the basics of rowing and help you build (or rebuild) your skills.
To check out our upcoming courses, head to British Rowing's Go Row portal and search "TW11 9QY".
We are a friendly club which gives opportunities to all at whatever level of training or experience you have.
Juniors
We have a Junior Learn to Row Taster Course during Easter school holiday for anyone Year 7 to Year 13. At the end of the course you will be invited to join the junior section improver course and eventually join in with those in your age group training to race and enjoying being out on the river.
In 2024 our highly successful junior section won medals at the National Schools Regatta and were British Junior Champions in the under 15 age group with the boys winning the Interregional Competition and our under 14 girls also being chosen to represent our region.
Adults
We have 2 upcoming courses for adults:-
-
a 10 week taster course starting 11th April (1 session per week, on Friday), and
-
a 5 week taster course starting 23rd April (2 sessions per week, on Sunday + Wednesday).
In both courses participants will be helped along the way by other experienced club members so that you get a feel for the sport and can then decide if you would like to join us to progress further. At the end of the course you will be offered a follow on improver course before we ask you to decide whether you want to join the club and be part of the developer group.
Note: you must be able to swim 50m in light PE clothing.
Starting 11th April
We invite you to try out sculling on our taster course. Our Friday morning Taster course runs alongside sessions for existing club members so you will be able to meet people and find out if you would like to join the Club.
Starting 23rd April
Come and join our Taster course which runs on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings; ie. the course is 2 sessions a week so that you can improve more quickly.
