ABOUT THE CLUB
Established in 1961, Walbrook is an open club to Juniors, Seniors and Masters’ rowers. Our Club colours are Black, Yellow and Green and we are proud to have an excellent fleet of both sculling and rowing boats for the member’s use. We meticulously maintain and upgrade the fleet to ensure our members get the best. In support of the “on-the-water” coaching we offer, we have four club coaching launches and access to several more. For scullers who own their own boat we have racking space available for full club members. There is a separate fee for racking space payable to Teddington Watersports Centre.
FACILITIES

No rowing club would be complete without a well-equipped gym on site. We are proud of the facilities which include numerous Concept2 ergometers, 2 separate free weights rooms and circuit training machines.
The clubhouse boasts a comfortable bar and dining area, giant TV, excellent kitchen and large balcony overlooking the site and river Thames.

One of the highlights after early weekend outings is the well earned coffee and cakes, served at 10am on a Saturday morning.
Walbrook members can be seen out on the water and training throughout the week, but weekend mornings the busiest. Training varies throughout the year but senior rowers tend to use the gym and ergos on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with circuits organised on Mondays and Wednesdays. At the weekends Seniors and Masters are out on the water early on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
COACHING
There are many Junior sessions, including schoolchildren from several local schools, divided into age groups and ability which take place all through the week. All age groups are represented at the club from J12 to Masters H (over 70!).
We have a number of club members who hold BR coaching qualifications including the level 3, Bronze and Silver awards who help with coaching.
In the summer, courses are organised for beginners lasting about four weeks which supplement those run for novice and intermediate scullers.
Coxes are always highly valued, therefore membership for coxes is free and special coaching is arranged for those interested in pursuing this important and skilled role.
New members are always warmly welcomed whether complete novices, experienced oarsmen/women or of international standard. To find out more about membership or just come down to have a look around check out the Membership page
